The hotel registers the forgotten item in 30 seconds from the dashboard, indicating the category and the guest's details. Lostit emails the guest a secure payment link. Once paid, DHL Express picks up at reception and delivers to the address the guest provides. The hotel doesn't handle shipping, pays nothing, and earns between 5% and 12% of the shipping cost as commission.
How much does it cost the hotel?
Zero. No setup fee, no contract, no software installation or maintenance. Shipping is paid by the guest at request time. DHL boxes and envelopes are free for the hotel.
What commission does the hotel earn?
Between 5% and 12% of the total shipping cost. It starts at 5% (Standard Partner) and rises up to 12% (Premium Partner) depending on recovered volume and the number of partner hotels invited to the network.
What happens to unclaimed items?
The hotel keeps full control. Lostit is a communication and logistics tool: it does not store items, does not transfer ownership, and does not decide what happens to unclaimed items. The hotel follows its own internal lost-property policy.
Does Lostit work outside Spain?
Yes. The platform is available in English, Spanish, Catalan, French and Portuguese, and DHL Express delivers to 220+ countries and territories. Operations, invoicing and payments comply with EU regulations (GDPR, intra-EU VAT).
Is guest data safe?
Yes. Lostit is GDPR-compliant. The guest controls their data via a unique link, payments are processed by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1), and the hotel only sees the data required to manage the return.
Who picks up the parcel?
DHL picks up at the hotel reception (our only carrier).
Is it GDPR compliant?
Yes. We collect the minimum data needed to ship and apply security and access controls.
Can I start today?

Do you send boxes and envelopes?
Yes. During onboarding we send free envelopes and boxes for preparing shipments at the hotel.
What if the guest doesn't pay?
No label is created and no pickup is requested until payment is completed. The item stays at the hotel.
Do I need to weigh or measure the parcel?
No. Select the packaging type (envelope/box) and the system calculates the price and generates the label.
